When we tested Lindy, the platform immediately offered to label our emails, draft replies, and take notes during meetings right after signup. There was no gradual introduction to its features. We connected Lindy to an inbox we previously used for backlink outreach with a virtual assistant. One useful feature is that you can simply ask Lindy to search through your messages and pull specific information. We tested this by asking how many backlink requests came in over the last two months, and Lindy reported eight requests to that email address, which seemed accurate.
We then copied a complete 5-step task into the Lindy chat window. The system took some time to process, and we weren't sure if we were using the right interface. Lindy kept displaying popup windows with scripts, which seemed unnecessary since we only had read access and couldn't modify them anyway. As we expected, Lindy struggled with figuring out domain ratings for websites and estimated ours far too low instead of simply asking us for the correct information.
When Lindy researched potential partner pages, it did filter out many competitor pages, but two out of three final email suggestions were still direct competitors. After we pointed this out, Lindy continued researching non-competitors and drafted relevant outreach emails. During the same workflow, Lindy mentioned deleting an event it never actually created. While Lindy caught its own mistake, this still pulled our attention away for no good reason.
We also wished Lindy would share email draft text with us before creating the emails directly in our inbox. This approach wastes credits, and we were unhappy with the email formulation multiple times because Lindy didn't understand our instructions well. For comparison, Claude understood our instructions immediately, so the issue wasn't with how we communicated.
Overall, we don't think Lindy is helpful enough yet to truly outsource significant work tasks to it. The platform still requires too much manual review and often wastes credits without delivering good results. For simple automations in your business or personal life, Lindy might work, but for more complex workflows, it needs improvement.
