AI Music Generators FAQ

AI music generators are an exciting new field, but not everyone will be equally excited about it. We've questioned people on Reddit if they would exclude AI-generated music from their playlists if they could, and 60% said yes.

Musicians and creatives are worried about having to share the pie with untalented people. Understandable. Still, technological and creative evolution are inevitable. So we tested 10 tools in our first test and are continuously adding more AI music generation tools to our palette.

First of all, we were surprised by the significant range between the different tools. While some, like Eleven Music or AI Music Generator (with literally such a literal name), were able to create complete songs easily, others struggled with creating anything worth listening to. The worst creations were by Beatoven.AI and Mubert. The music generated could not even be used as background music.

There are two overall categories:

1. Full song creators (with lyrics, vocals, beats and melodies)
2. Beat makers (without lyrics and vocals)

Beatmakers have been around for a while, they don't necessarily require AI to work. The first category is much more complex and algorithms are needed for the music creation. Overall, our favorite tools were Eleven Music and AI Music Generator because they produced high-quality original music, were glitch-free, and were easy to use. Suno surprised us by only delivering song pieces, even after multiple attempts. Our credits were refunded, but we would have preferred the song.
