This is the category that makes Hollywood sweat. Rightfully, because ai-powered video generators have the potential to extinct half of the film industry. If e.g. Runway or Sora AI allow creating any scenery 100% according to the director's vision on the computer screen, they will prefer that over sending a costly film crew around the world.

We're not there yet, for now the ai-generated video content don't follow prompts well enough. Too many generations are needed generate video looks high-quality, but we're slowly getting there. For example the music video "Washed Out" by Paul Trillo was made entirely with AI.

It took them 8000 generations with SoraAI and according to Paul Trillo, getting an even motion pace was the most challenging part.

To give you more of an overview of where we stand currently with video GenAI, aka AI video generators, let me introduce the main players.

Runway is the most famous tool and so far still the front runner.
Google's VEO has surprised some in the video gen community and was the first to introduc audio to their videos. Not perfect, but damn exciting!
Kling AI is the Chinese pendant to Runway and also one of our favorites.
Pika Labs was also one of the first video software to create a entirely new ai-generated sequences from a prompt, but seems to be doing best with animation style.
Flux AI is a great video generator, it gets prompts really well and also has a great image generator.
Artlist is a great All-in-One Tool for filmmakers which privides also a sound and music library and can customize voices.

In the years coming, expect a fierce battle of the mentioned main players. AI-powered video generators will excel in making less mistakes, more relatable characters and near undistinguishable sets and sceneries from real ones.
Until they make a full movie it will take quite some time, it's just to hard to get them everything right at once: characters, setting, audio. But when AI models advance enough for AI to create entire films, the possibilities will be endless and creativity can flow even more freely.

The best AI video generators currently are Veo by Google, Flux, and Runway. They are all able to generate good new video clips from a prompt (called text-to-video or prompt-to-video). Veo was the first to add audio to its sequences, which works well in most cases. To be honest it's a constant race between these four companies, so instead of signing up for a subscription and one tool, we recommend going with a subscription of Freepik, which has all relevant video generators under its hood and even provides you with an image generator.

This video software also lets you take an AI image and bring it to life with movement. You can also upload a start or end frame and let the AI video generator fill in the moments between. There are** **AI video editors that simplify the editing process immensly and provide you with a large free stock library of clips, video templates, AI voices and background music. AI video editing tools with a great track record is Veed.io, it's great for social media videos clips. You can apply effects, filters, add graphic elements, captions and background music. Tools like Capcut or Videoleap are similar; they just focus more mobile use. Creators love them because after the recording they can quickly edit footage right on their phone and seamlessly upload content for social media. It's not always perfect, but it's great to use as a base, and you can simply correct frames you don't like. | Other tools like Invideo even leverage generative AI to mix stock footage with a completely new video sequence which it creates from a prompt. But the technology is still very immature; there are just too many variables and things that can go wrong, and we haven't seen this working very well yet (except on social media, of course, which in many cases shows you 1 out of 100 generations). |

Usually the All-in-One Tools like Artlist or Freepik are more generous with their free trials and let you test various models within one interface. We also heard that Vidu allows free video generation, but it keeps changing how much, so we don't want to lie to you here.

Here is the basic video generator prompt: Action + Scene Which we admit, is very simple. The more advanced prompt used by most pros is this: Action + Scene + Style + Background + Camera movements + Perspective / angles + Additional elements + Mood Just take out what isn't required for you. In general it makes sense to give the video generator a detailed prompt because every generation costs money and you don't want to waste your credits. So rather give the tool more information and be happy with the result. Adobe Firefly's video generator let's you choose your camera angle and perspective through a catalog, which we find quite handy.

According to the test that our friends from AI Tools SME did, giving 8 video generators the same prompt and comparing the outcome, Kling and Flux did the best. They asked the video generators to create a clip with two protagonists shaking hands and only these two managed to create this scene with the correct movements. Veo 3 also let them shake hands, but the audio it added was simply gibberish, so the video was unusable.

This is based on a very detailed prompt formula, which is Scene + Action + Style + Background + Camera movements + Perspective / angles + Additional elements + Mood | Scene: The scene takes place in a futuristic store with shiny surfaces and floating displays of virtual AI tools like chatbots, image makers, and other software. Action: An AI assistant appears and points to floating screens showing different AI tools while customers walk around and try them out. Style: Clean and modern like an Apple Store but with cool neon lights and hologram effects - sleek but not too flashy. Background: You can see space through clear walls with stars in the distance, and sometimes digital code flows down the walls like rain. Camera Movements: Start far away, showing the whole store, then move forward through the entrance, glide past the products, and end focused on the AI assistant waving hello. Perspective/Angles: Begin looking up at the impressive store, then switch to normal eye-level shots of people using the products, and finish looking over someone's shoulder as they shop. It's usually the AI video editors that have a free stock library, not the video generators. Those will just generated any scene you want, but sometimes you just want to look through a catalog of exisitng footage. Canva, Veed and Invideo all have big stock free libraries with pretty much every scene you can imagine. And if not, then you can always go back to an AI video generator like Runway and create the sequence for yourself.

It depends. If you want to use AI generated clips within your ad, you should go with Kling or Flux. They will both do a great job in creating the sequence you want, even if not on the first try. If you would like to add backgrounds, elements like arrows, ad copy and a voice over into your ad, we would recommend to go with Freepik. Freepik is a full creative suite that gives you access to video genAI but also editing tools. It's easier to work within a toolbox like Freepik (which anyway lets you access the newest and best AI video generators) where you can generate the video and edit it right away too.

For faceless social media videos we recommend Canva because it has so many great features and integrated apps. Besides all the graphic elements and templates, you can add AI voices, use their video and image stock library, background music, special fonts, animations, effects and filters. They don't have an integrated video generator, but for social media in most cases you won't need it or can just use AI generated images instead. If you want to create video with Avatars for social media like ours videos on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and Youtube (you should check our channels out, they teach you a lot about AI tools, just check out the link in the footer) then HeyGen is a great option. HeyGen's avatars look most realistic and their voices are great too.

If you want to be in the UGC video yourself, you can easily record yourself within Canva, Veed.io or Capcut. Capcut is very popular among TikTokers and lets you directly edit your videos on the phone. Canva is better on desktop and great if you want to add more graphic elements or need a wider palette of AI tools like voice generators. If you don't want to be part of the video, you can add an AI avatar from HeyGen, they look so real! Their lip movements are great, you can make them speak almost any language and you can choose a voice from their huuuge library. If you've seen us on social media, you've actually seen a HeyGen Avatar (sorry to break your heart!).

For creating an online course you'll be better off with an AI video editor, since you will have to focus more on recording yourself, adding graphic elements and editing. AI video generators are more for creating completely new scenes from a prompt. The best AI video editor for your mission is probably Movavi or Canva. I created my video course with Canva because I already have a pro subscription and I really like their huge app library. Veed could also be a good option for you, they even have an eye correction feature that hides that you are reading off the screen and sets your eyes straight. More and more video generators also have a background remover, especially the ones that also have a full editing suite. Freepik, Flux and Canva can remove backgrounds for videos easily. Pro Tip: Do you know that cool effect when a font appears behind a person or element? For that just simply copy the frame, use the background remover on the top copy, add the font in the middle layer between that and the background layer...and there you go! Looks pretty cool.
