AI Image Generator FAQs
AI image generators are among the most exciting AI innovations, so much creative potential! Where we once needed a photographer or designer, our imagination now runs wild, thanks to these tools. With many companies offering generous free plans, you can create to your heart’s content.

The most famous and pioneering AI image generator, MidJourney, continues to lead the industry. Designers remain captivated by its capabilities. But exciting new approaches are emerging: Adobe’s Firefly proves they’re ready to embrace the future and avoid the fate of companies like Kodak, who once missed the wave of technological innovation. With their unique perspective feature, they put themselves apart from other AI image generators.

Tools like Canva now seamlessly integrate their own image generators into their design toolboxes, and DALL-E, included with a ChatGPT subscription, stands out as one of the best image generators available.

However, many tools still struggle with certain challenges, such as achieving proper perspective or maintaining consistency across designs. A common frustration—creating the same character in different settings—was resolved when MidJourney introduced the character consistency feature, now a staple for advanced image generation.

For better results, use this simple AI image generator formula when prompting:

Style + Subject
Optionally add more details like:
Background + Colors

But be warned: image generation is addictive! Once you dive into this rabbit hole, hours will pass before you even notice.

Which image generator is best?

Presentation makers such as Gamma or Prezi can creatw presentation from just a single prompt and are therefore a weapon of every office warrior. The created presentations or slides, will be rather broad, but if students...

I wish it were this easy to answer! It depends on what you want. While Flux in our opinion, currently creates the nicest image generations, Adobe's Firefly has the best features and AI toolbox to further work with your generated image. It lets you generate, edit, style, create collages, and collaborate with others in seconds. Firefly's AI image generator is also quite good. What sets it apart is its unique camera angle control feature, which lets you adjust perspectives and viewpoints of generated images as if you were positioning a real camera. The platform automatically offers four variations of each creation and suggests an incredible variety of styles to explore. And then of course there is Midjourney, the very first famous AI image generator. Designers and creatives love it, but it's a pity they don't offer free AI images anymore. So with either one of these you'll be happy, I'd say Flux for pure image generation, Fireflies for image generation + AI edits, and Midjourney if you are also interested in the community aspect.

Which AI can create a design?

Presentation makers such as Gamma or Prezi can creatw presentation from just a single prompt and are therefore a weapon of every office warrior. The created presentations or slides, will be rather broad, but if students...

It kind of depends what you mean by design. We can image three use cases: | You want to create a flyer, ad banner, online course thumbnail, profile picture or similar. You want to create a wireframe for a website design You want to create a brand design | For the first mission I would most likely Canva, but not with an AI tool, but with AI-powered features. Canva has many templates you can simply adjust for your copy, your face or whatever applies. Many thumbnails include the main protagonist and you could use a background remover to add your own picture there. If you simply want to extend a background or erase a specific element from a picture, you can use their background remover and magic grab feature. Both are super handy and Canva offers so many more apps within their toolbox which are seriously fun to play around with. 2.But we're here to work, so on to the second mission, the website design: | Wireframes can easily be created by Relume AI. You can even get other websites' code that inspire you (we never want to call it stealing). But if you don't even want to put the effort into creating a webdesign, you could simply use AI website builders like Lovable or Durable which can straight deliver a website, part of a page or even widget code. | And lastly for mission 3, the brand design, I'd go with a tool like Tailor Brands. They can generate you a full set of branded designs like a logo, website, cover letters, business cards etc. You can refine the designs online and their packages are really affordable. Also check out the logo maker FAQ if you are in the middle of building your brand.

These allow text integration, direct product insertion and element replacement in case you want to switch things up to create different variations of your ads. A/B testing hello, annoying copy and pasting goodbye! If you have to create ad imagery with your brand character, of course you'll want it to stay consistent throughout all banners. Here Midjourney was the first image generator to introduce the character consistency feature, which allows exactly what it sounds like. In the meantime many other competitors have caught up, like for example Freepik and also integrated this popular feature for commercial use into their palette.

Our personal favorites are the: - **Background Remover: **the best around, also works great for videos! - **Magic Grab:** Let's you grab any element within an image and move or delete it. If you click an area, it will in most cases recognise it correctly or you can also outline it yourself - **Image Upscaler:** 2x-10x. Great for bigger banners or where the original picture is slightly pixelated. Be careful not to overdo it, or your skin will look like rubber. - **Background extension**: If you want to zoom out of your original picture and extend the background to make it fit your new format, this is really great. - **Magic edit: **Let's you prompt your changes, works 60% of the time, but it is getting better every day.

How can I create the effect that a font is placed behind a person but in front of the background? And which AI tool can create this effect?

Presentation makers such as Gamma or Prezi can creatw presentation from just a single prompt and are therefore a weapon of every office warrior. The created presentations or slides, will be rather broad, but if students...

Oh, that's a nice one. I would use Canva for this simple trick; this effect can be created with a background remover. You simply have to copy the layer of the person or element you want to be in front of the font. Then you use the background remover for this upper layer, put the font below and leave the original image (background now) as it is. This works for videos as well by the way, you should totally check out our FAQ for video generators or AI video editors.

Also Canva offers various other AI-powered editing features such as the background remover, magic grab and magic extend (to extend backgrounds). If you want to use AI generated images for your Youtube Thumbnails, we recommend to go with Flux AI, which allows you to generate the image and right away edit it in the same tool. Flux Context also offers various cool editing features such as Text Integration, Product Insertion or Element Replacement. But it doesn't have specifically thumbnail templates.

They also found Flux to perform better overall, you can read the blog post here: https://www.aitoolssme.com/blogs/chatgpt-vs-flux-image-generators.
