We wanted to appear in searches about specific tools like Gamma, but HubSpot AEO suggested prompts like "What makes AI tool recommendation platforms valuable for resource-strapped SMEs?" These questions target our category rather than the specific moments where we need visibility.

We ended up creating our own prompts, particularly for queries where we already get cited by language models. Strangely, HubSpot AEO scored our brand at 0% for these known citations. The measurement interface also confused us. We couldn't determine if we were viewing data for all prompts or just individual ones. The "top citations" section didn't help either since it doesn't connect citations back to specific queries.
